When Identity Systems Fail
Fraud modelling, SASSA and RICA failures, and the gap between proving identity and protecting people.

Real incidents. Clear stories. Better questions.
I turn first-hand investigations into talks that make cyber risk human: fraud in public systems, broken identity checks, threat intelligence and what responsible disclosure looks like in the real world.

Researcher, investigator and speaker based in South Africa
I’m Veer Gosai, a South African cybersecurity researcher and speaker. My work has helped expose identity misuse and large-scale fraud in the SASSA SRD grant system, failures in RICA identity verification, and vulnerabilities disclosed responsibly to companies and government departments.
Those investigations sit at the centre of my talks. I unpack how an issue was found, why the surrounding system failed, who carried the risk and what security teams, developers and leaders can learn from it—without turning people’s harm into theatre.
If your audience wants a grounded story about fraud, identity, threat intelligence or responsible disclosure, reach out. I shape each session for technical teams, leadership audiences, students or the wider public.

The best cyber stories are not invented. They are discovered carefully, tested against evidence and told in a way that helps an audience see the system—not only the breach.

Tell me who will be in the room, what you want them to leave with and where the event is. I’ll suggest a relevant talk or shape one around your brief.
